Israeli-Palestinian influencer Nuseir Yassin, better known as Nas Daily on social media, encountered significant backlash from pro-Palestinian activists in Japan who accused him of downplaying Israel's actions in Gaza during an event he hosted.

Eyewitnesses reported that Yassin laughed and mocked the atrocities occurring in Gaza as they were recounted during the confrontation. Tensions escalated when his supporters responded to the activists with insults and even physical violence, as captured in widely shared social media clips.

One demonstrator asserted that Yassin was more than "just a content creator," labeling him "a deliberate and ruthless instrument of Israel's propaganda efforts."

Protesters in Japan displayed signs reading “We don't need influencers who are complicit in genocide” and “Jews for a free Palestine.”

Yassin's demeanor left a negative impression on many attendees. Some who had initially come to meet him ended up turning against him. One attendee remarked, “I came here for the event, but after listening to you and hearing him just now, I’m not on his side.”

Another protester added, “Basic humanity is to not laugh when somebody's dying. He's making a joke out of it.”

In the aftermath, Yassin posted a video on X, expressing his “excitement” about the protesters’ presence. He wrote, “I told them I shared their goals. I want a Free Palestine from Hamas, from terrorism, and from radical religion. They disagreed, saying they only wanted a Free Palestine from Jews.”

Yassin, a travel vlogger with roots in northern Israel, identifies as "Israeli" despite his Palestinian heritage.

He recently  conveyed a strong emotional connection to Israel, where his family lives, and shared his desire for the country's continued existence. However Yassin also highlighted the importance of an independent Palestinian state and his aspirations for its success.

Consequently, he identifies as "Israeli-Palestinian," placing his Israeli identity first while recognizing his Palestinian roots as a secondary aspect.
