In a historic moment for the North Texas Islamic Council (NTIC), the 2025 Grand Iftar Dinner brought together city officials, state representatives, school board members, and interfaith leaders from across North Texas.
NTIC President Mujeeb Kazi emphasized the significance of the event, stating, “This evening is a testament to the strength of our collective commitment to fostering harmony, understanding, and social progress. Together, we build bridges that unite our communities and pave the way for a more inclusive future.”
The sold-out event, sponsored by humanitarian organization BAITULMAL, highlighted NTIC’s commitment to unity and interfaith collaboration.For the first time, representatives from over 100 mosques, Islamic centers, churches, synagogues, and temples joined together in an evening dedicated to fostering dialogue, compassion, and collective progress.
Notable attendees included Dallas County Commissioner Summerman, Texas State Representative Terry Meza, Mayor Richard Boyer of The Colony, and a diverse group of faith leaders and community advocates.
The evening featured speeches from esteemed leaders such as former ISNA President Azhar Azeez, Imam Dr. Zafar Anjum of UT Dallas, and Professor Dr. Robert Hunt of SMU, all reinforcing the values of compassion, civic responsibility, and charity.
The Grand Iftar concluded with a heartfelt prayer for peace and prosperity, followed by a communal dinner where guests shared traditional Ramadan dishes.
The event marked a milestone in NTIC’s ongoing mission to strengthen interfaith ties and advocate for a more connected and harmonious society.
