In a world that often celebrates fame and success, Mutlu Kaya, a Turkish singer, was thrust into the spotlight in the most tragic and unexpected way.

Mutlu Kaya was a young aspiring singer in 2015. Her talent had taken her to the finals of the Turkish talent show, and it seemed like her dreams were about to come true. However, Mutlu Kaya's life took a devastating turn when she was shot in the head by a man whose proposal she declined.

Her recovery journey took nearly two months in intensive care, with her family steadfastly camped outside the hospital. Mutlu's story captured international headlines.

Despite her physical challenges and the enduring bullet lodged in her brain, Mutlu survived and has become a source of inspiration. Her nearly two million TikTok followers call her 'Iron Women' because of the bullet still in her brain.

Her older sister, Dilek, fell victim to this same violence at the hands of a man who claimed to be her boyfriend.

Mutlu comes from a conservative background and communicates through a translator, as she doesn't speak English. Still, her message transcends the language barrier and resonates with people worldwide.

Today, Mutlu Kya has emerged as an advocate of change, using the platform to raise her voice against violence towards women. She no longer sings traditional Turkish folk songs; instead, she has recorded a powerful protest track, ‘Resurrection’.

Through TikTok, she champions harsher penalties for perpetrators and seeks to bring attention to the issue. The lyrics of one of her songs are, "The cruel ones will pay the price one day."

Behind this door, Mutlu tried to escape the bullets, but she was still hit.

Her attacker was convicted and sentenced to 15 years in jail, but she believes the penalties for such heinous crimes are not strong enough.

In a society where violence against women is a grim reality, Mutlu's courage shines brightly. Her story is now being shared in a document titled, 'My Name Is Happy,' a name she chose despite the hardships she endured. It's a testament to her maturity and strength in the face of adversity.
